  • The Lehigh Valley Health Network Center for Mindfulness is excited to begin offering a new selection of four additional Introduction to Mindfulness classes, each focused around a specific theme. The sessions will be offered virtually through Webex and in person and will have a $15 cost associated with registration. Please see below for courses descriptions and dates.     Introduction to Mindful Eating:

    Mindful eating is a practice in which you can rediscover the joy of eating for nourishment and pleasure. When you are aware of your habits of eating, you can more easily honor your health, hunger and fullness. In this one-hour interactive class, you will learn about what mindfulness is and how it can be applied to eating. Mindful eating can restore a positive relationship to food and eating.

    Introduction to Mindfulness in the Workplace:

    In this one-hour introduction, you will learn simple methods to practice mindfulness at home and in the workplace. In this interactive class, you will learn to integrate moments of mindfulness throughout your day. You will gain simple but powerful tools to return your attention to the present moment with curiosity. These mindful moments enable you to wake up to your life and live more fully.

    Introduction to Mindful Communication:

    In this one-hour introduction, you will practice mindfulness and explore how mindfulness impacts communication. You will understand how, with mindfulness, you can become a good listener to yourself and others. We can recognize “signals” when ease is present between us and when it is disrupted. This will give us clues about how to foster safety in relation to others, a fundamental building block of mindful communication.

    Introduction to Mindful Self Compassion:

    Self-compassion is the practice of offering yourself kindness and care during moments of stress. It is an innate human capacity which many of us have not developed. Self-compassion is an important building block of resilience. In this one-hour introduction, you will practice mindfulness and explore its connection to self-compassion.
